The bamboo people

" There are many times that I wanted to stop this constant and relentless grind.  But each time , I gritted my teeth , charged up my energy from the fatigue of mind and body ,and continued my assignment . What kept me going ? First ,I thought of my own pride and dignity as a person and as an attorney why had made a promise , which ,I recalled , I had accepted so casually . I next thought about all of the people who had contributed funds toward the entire research project . I also thought about how Long the JACL had dreamed of this project . Whith such a load on my shoulders, I could not stop ."
